God
our Father, we praise you and give thanks for the chance to share
in the work of the Union of Catholic Mothers through the Friends
Circle. Together with all our sisters we put our trust in you that
we may all use our talents wisely in your service and for the good
of our neighbour. Sometimes we feel caught up in our private world
of worries or we are so busy - where does the day go? Help us to
realise that others have crosses to bear and that we can help to
carry them through our prayers.
O
Lord Jesus Christ, open our hearts to the needs of others; to families
with troubles bring healing, strength and new opportunities; help
us to direct children on the right path of life so that they make
the best decisions for the good of all they come in contact with.
Holy
Spirit, we place the members of The UCM in your loving care; keep
them faithful to the promises and inspire them to do your will in
all they undertake.
Mary
our Mother, you know how we feel and how we have to cope with the
ups and downs that each day brings. Be ever mindful of our needs,
put them before our Father in heaven and may the peace of your son,
Jesus Christ, always dwell in our hearts and homes.
Amen

A
LIFELONG SHARING
Love
cannot remain by itself - it has no meaning.
Love has to be put into action and that action is service.
How do we put the love for God in action?
By being faithful to our family,
to the duties that God has entrusted to us.
Whatever form we are, able or disabled, rich or poor, it is not
how much we do but how much love
we put in the doing,
a lifelong sharing of love with others.

DAILY
MASS SCHEME
Under
this scheme, one or more Foundations of The UCM attend Mass every
day of the year, praying for the intentions of all members, remembering
particularly five intentions, which are as follows:
For
all members; for all those who suffer for their Faith; for a growth
in Faith; for an increase in vocations to the Priesthood and Religious
Life; for Marriage and Family Life.
A
fixed rota of dates is sent to each Diocesan President and all members
are urged to offer Mass and Holy Communion on the days allocated
to their Foundations. |
DECADE
OF THE FAMILY
A
FAMILY PRAYER
Jesus,
Mary and Joseph, may your example as the perfect nucleus of all
family life enrich our Christian home.
Give
to all fathers the strength of Joseph, tendered with his loving
gentleness and to all mothers the courage and fortitude of Mary,
framed in the acceptance of the Divine Will.
To
all children bestow the love and humility of the Christ Child who,
in Divine Obedience, was soon about His Father's business.
May
all these virtues unite to create in each household its own Holy
Family as a dynamo of love and peace reaching out to all places
and to all peoples.
Amen.
