I joined The Union of Catholic Mothers 30 years ago. When my daughters were very small I, along with several other mums formed a parish play group. When our children had moved onto primary school the “mums” continued to meet each week and from these meetings our Parish Foundation was formed.

I have always enjoyed being a member of The Union of Catholic Mothers and have held the post of Foundation President, Secretary and Treasurer. In 2002 I was elected Diocesan Secretary a role that I thoroughly enjoyed as this gave me the opportunity to meet grass root members from every foundation in the Diocese and to represent the Diocese at National Council where I made many new friends.

In 2007 I was appointed to National Committee as Media Officer which is a very varied and interesting job.

I continue to be involved in the work of my own foundation which is St Joseph’s, Staveley.
