I joined the 'mothers' in 1972 and at first was happy to sit,listen and join in the outings but this all changed when I went to National Council as a delegate. I was amazed. On my return I put my name forward for Secretary, and have since served as Treasurer at Foundation and Diocesan level and Vice President and Secretary at Diocesan level. The Union of Catholic Mothers has given me the confidence to take part fully in my parish life and has strengthened my faith, and I enjoy meeting members from around the country and have made many friends.
